Hello! Today’s blog post is some of my tips and tricks on how to pray.
Whether you’re new to the faith and are unsure how to pray or if you’re just someone who likes hearing news ways on how to pray, this is the post for you!
Before we start, it’s important to note that, while yes, I am a Christian, these tips can be applied to anyone of any faith that uses prayer!
STEP ONE: PRAISE
A great way to start out any prayer is to thank God for all the good things in your life! It can be small things like the cozy bed you’re in, your puppy, or for the delicious lunch you had that day or it can be for bigger, more personal things in your life. Either way, it’s always a wonderful idea to open up with praise and thanks for the blessings God gives us every day!
For a more hands-on approach to this, or if you struggle talking out loud/praying in your head, you can grab a journal and write down all of the things you wish to thank God for! This is also great over time for looking back at things that you were thankful for in the past.
STEP TWO: OTHERS
The next thing I recommend doing is praying for those around you. If you know one of your friends is struggling with something, ask God to give them wisdom and guidance so that they can overcome it. You can look at the news and see so many different groups of people to pray for around the world, it’s always good to pray for others and hope that they find Christ amongst all of the crap in the world.
It’s also awesome to start asking those around you for prayer requests! You’d be surprised how many people have their own problems that go unnoticed most days, and it’s important to have an open heart and open ears for them. Part of being a good friend is listening and being able to pray for things they are suffering through in their everyday lives.
STEP THREE: YOURSELF
Finally, talk to God about what’s going on in your life. If you aren’t sure how to do this, start by just telling Him about your day! Something amazing about God that my pastor once said is, even though God knows your entire day, He still wants to hear you tell Him about it because He cares about you and loves you. God is wonderful and caring, He is there for you in any situation or mood you are in, so be open to Him.
Now is also a good time to pray to God about the struggles you are facing in your life. Whether it’s depression, a strain in a relationship, or just a crummy day, praying to God to give you the guidance and assurance on how to tackle a situation can do wonders. He will show you in some way how to handle the problems in your life if you stay open and allow Him to be the center of your life.
Thanks so much for reading my first blog post pals! I hope to make more about things like living a Christ-centered life as well as Lifestyle and Beauty things here and there!
Leave me a comment if you have any questions or if you just want to tell me about your day!
